About us

The Department of Information Studies (DIS - founded in 1919 and formerly called the School of Library, Archive & Information Studies, or SLAIS) is the only department in the UK with programmes in library and information studies, archives and records management, publishing and digital humanities and information in society.
DIS provides students with an active research and learning environment across the information disciplines. In addition to its own programmes, the Department also teaches a number of courses at undergraduate level for students from other UCL departments.
About the role
------------------
Main purpose of the job Working as part of a team to provide specialist administration to designated taught degree programmes, ensuring effective procedures are adopted and documented for dealing with all aspects of the administration.
Assist in achieving a high quality and timely service to current and prospective students and staff related to the designated taught degree programmes and beyond.
Provide support for all matters relating to the teaching and learning activities of students, from enquiry to completion, including supporting committees and processes relating to assessment, student, and programme records
About you
-------------
You should be educated to GCSE level or have similar relevant work experience. You must have worked in a busy office environment, preferably within higher education. You should be very organised in your work, excellent at performing administrative duties, and be comfortable using a variety of software and systems.
You will need good communication skills and have the desire to offer a high level of service. You will need to be able to work well as part of a team, liaise with a variety of people, and establish good working relationships with staff and students in a teaching and learning context.
