About us

------------

The department of European & International Social & Political Studies (EISPS) is looking to appoint an Education Coordinator (Taught Programmes) for the duration of 9 months from January to September 2026 (maternity cover). EISPS is a multidisciplinary department situated within UCL's Faculty of Arts and Humanities. University College London (UCL) is a multi-faculty college of the University of London with a population of over 52,000 students, from more than 150 different countries. UCL is among the world's top universities, as reflected in performance in a range of rankings and tables, and is ranked 9th in the world, 5th in Europe and 2nd in London in the QS World University Rankings 2025. EISPS offers highly selective degrees which aims to equip students with a rigorous interdisciplinary understanding of international affairs, grounded in a chosen disciplinary specialism and complemented by advanced language proficiency. Students develop the ability to critically analyse complex political, social, legal and economic phenomena across different cultural, historical and institutional contexts. The department fosters methodological awareness by exposing students to both qualitative and quantitative approaches, enabling them to evaluate evidence, construct coherent arguments, and engage with academic and policy debates. Our single honours degrees are four-year programmes where students spend their third year abroad in a country where the major language of their pathway is spoken. The dual degree with Sciences Po also takes four years, with the first two spent in France and the last two at EISPS.
