An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Newport City Council's Education Services Team as Education Support Services Officer.
There are three Education Support Services Officer posts within the Education Support Services Team. Team members support a range of central education statutory and non-statutory functions that impact the operational delivery of school support services and ensure that all relevant workstreams are carried out on time and to a high quality.
The successful candidate will have an awareness and understanding of all duties within the job description but will be specifically responsible for:
Ensuring that effective processes are in place to support the Education Support Services Manager in completing all grant claims, and ensure that the Council is fully reimbursed for all costs incurred
Working closely with the Education Welfare Service Manager so that effective systems and processes are in place to support the administration and processing of Fixed Penalty Notices and provide advice where required to schools and parents / carers.
Providing support to the Education Welfare Service in relation to elective home education and child performance and child employment licences including undertaking regular data analysis to identify trends.
Supporting the appointment of chaperones by attending interviews, undertaking relevant checks and issuing certificates.
