Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable EHCP Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in coordinating and managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to support children and young people with special educational needs. This role involves working closely with educational institutions, health professionals, families, and other stakeholders to ensure personalised support plans are effectively implemented. The EHCP Officer will contribute to creating an inclusive environment that promotes the development and well-being of all pupils. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and specialised support services, with a background in teaching being highly desirable.

Responsibilities



Manage the end-to-end process of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including assessment, planning, review, and annual updates. Liaise effectively with schools, parents, health professionals, social workers, and other relevant agencies to gather information and coordinate support. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines related to EHCP processes. Provide guidance and advice to educational settings on implementing EHCP provisions and supporting pupils' needs. Organise meetings such as annual reviews and facilitate collaborative discussions among stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of all EHCP documentation and correspondence in accordance with data protection policies. Promote best practices in inclusive education by sharing knowledge on teaching strategies tailored to individual needs. Contribute to ongoing training sessions or workshops aimed at enhancing understanding of EHCP procedures and inclusive teaching methods.

Qualifications



Proven experience in a teaching role or related educational setting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of special educational needs (SEN) legislation and statutory frameworks related to EHCPs. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise confidently with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to promoting inclusive education practices. Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs are preferred but not essential. Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 14 weeks

Pay: 12.00-15.95 per year
