Job Overview



The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the Electrical design scope of a project whilst working within a multi-discipline project team. The Electrical Design Engineer role is an integral role within the project team which requires a logical thinker who is self-motivating.

Key Responsibilities



Have valued input into quotations, ensuring customer specification is met.

Drawing on a comprehensive technical knowledge in order to develop customer solutions.

Design of electrical control systems using AutoCAD Electrical to meet customer specification.

Create BOM for procurement department.

Specification & selection of components to be used in control system.

Production of technical documentation for O&M Manuals.

Liaise with Operations for resource scheduling & project updates.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications



At least 5 years' relevant experience

Hazardous area equipment appreciation including ATEX and Class/Div.

Familiarity with Oil and Petrochem industry specifications and practices

Switchboards, MCC's and Power Distribution experience

UL/FM/CSA standards knowledge would be advantageous

Must be self-motivating and able to demonstrate an ability to work off own initiative

Must have a practical knowledge of designing control systems & panels (AutoCAD Electrical)

Knowledge of site installation practices would be advantageous

Good working knowledge of practical working aspects of electrical functions

Strong problem-solving skills.

Excellent customer relations, listening and organisation skills.

The ability to successfully interact with others in the company.

The ability to demonstrate a commitment to quality during the completion of every task.

The ability to deliver superior service by understanding who our customers are and their needs and expectations.

The ability to ensure tasks are completed to timescales.
