Pay
  • $95,000.00- $120,000.00/year
  • + Bonuses in which calculations are tied to productivity and profitability

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand the requirements and scope of work for public projects within the bid environment.
  • Conduct accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for electrical components and systems involved in the projects.
  • Collaborate with senior managers or designated project leads to gather necessary information and guidance for estimating tasks.
  • Present estimated scope of work for projects in a clear and concise manner, effectively communicating the breakdown of costs and project requirements to stakeholders.
  • Identify potential value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Develop and implement value engineering exercises, proposing alternative solutions or cost-saving measures to enhance the project\'s value and competitiveness.
  • Prepare comprehensive scope of work content to accompany bid offers, ensuring all relevant information is included and accurately represented.
  • Collaborate with the project team, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, to obtain necessary information and clarify project details during the estimation process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and technological advancements related to electrical systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other relevant activities to gather essential project information and enhance estimating accuracy.
  • Maintain organized documentation and records of estimating activities, including bids, proposals, and correspondence, for future reference and review.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve estimating processes, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

  • At least 4-5 years of electrical estimating experience in distribution, lighting, branch, instrumentation, control, high/medium voltage systems, and all special systems, i.e., fire alarm, communications, etc.
  • Has a complete understanding of commercial, heavy commercial, and heavy industrial construction environments. Public transportation (rail), Heavy highway, wastewater, and fish hatchery knowledge are a plus
  • Experience with preparing, completing, explaining, and reviewing complex estimates with managers
  • Experience with delivery models: Plans, specifications, design assistance, and design-build
  • Knowledgeable and competent at thoroughly evaluating and estimating EV solutions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support the training and development of other contractor employees on our estimating procedures
  • Knowledge of live count estimating systems (McCormick)
  • Experience with coordinating and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the relationships between all other trades and subcontractors civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, etc.
  • Quick study with the ability to grasp existing estimating, processes, and procedures
  • Support of estimating process, ensuring updated pricing and database management in estimating system
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude is a must
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Able to review BOMs of subcontractors, suppliers, and other vendors to determine complete packages, compliance with bid documents, and make recommendations to management
  • Must possess knowledge of NEC, local codes, and construction methods
  • Knowledge of RFI processes
  • Must be able to assist with change order pricing and budgeting
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
