Job Title: Electrical Technical Engineer - Double Days

Location: Pontrilas Sawmills, Herefordshire

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Double Shift Pattern (05:30-14:00 & 13:30-22:00), Monday to Friday

Salary: 43,430 + Weekly Production Bonus + Overtime

Pontrilas Sawmills, a well-established and market-leading timber manufacturer, is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding (MIG, MAG, and MMA) to join our dedicated engineering team. What You'll Be Doing:

Lead and supervise a team of electrical engineers during shift operations
Act as the technical lead during electrical breakdowns, providing advanced diagnostics and resolution
Oversee and coordinate the team's workload to ensure timely maintenance and fault repair
Drive best practices in electrical safety and compliance
Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement
Maintain accurate documentation and records for electrical systems and interventions

What We're Looking For
Strong electrical engineering background with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance
Minimum of 5 years' experience in an electrical engineering role
Proven ability to lead teams and act as a technical authority
Strong working knowledge of:
Electrical fault finding (including I/O, control panels, sensors)
3-phase and single-phase AC/DC systems
PLC-based systems (Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc. desirable)
Experience with quality control vision systems
Industrial automation and safety protocols
Completion of a recognized Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills
A proactive, organised, and dependable approach to leadership and engineering tasks
