This position is ideal for experienced electrical professionals who want to move into education, training, lecturing or apprenticeship delivery, while continuing to use their technical knowledge and industry experience.
As an Electrical Tutor / Lecturer, you'll deliver high-quality electrical theory and practical training to apprentices and learners studying Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installations and related qualifications.

Job Purpose
To plan, deliver and assess high-quality electrical theory and practical training in line with
City & Guilds and EAL
standards at Level 3 and above, ensuring learners achieve strong outcomes and progress successfully through their apprenticeship or qualification.
Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare and deliver engaging electrical training sessions covering both theory and practical skills
Teach Electrical Installations and related subjects at Level 2 and Level 3 in line with awarding body requirements
Develop and update learning materials to support classroom, workshop and blended learning delivery
Assess learner work and coursework accurately and within awarding body timescales
Monitor learner attendance, punctuality, progress and behaviour, producing reports as required
Liaise with Training Officers and support teams regarding learner progress, welfare and conduct
Provide guidance, coaching and pastoral support to learners throughout their programme
Maintain a safe learning environment, ensuring high standards of health, safety and discipline
Oversee workshop activities and ensure equipment and materials are available and fit for purpose
Support apprentices through each year of their programme, promoting timely completion
Respond professionally to employer, learner and stakeholder queries regarding training delivery
Maintain accurate records and complete required administrative documentation on time
Engage positively with internal and external quality assurance and inspection processes
Build effective working relationships with employers, awarding bodies and industry partners
Stay up to date with changes in electrical regulations, standards and industry practices
Undertake additional duties as required by management
Essential Requirements
Electrical Level 3 qualification or equivalent (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Electrotechnical)
GCSE Maths and English (A-C / 9-4) or Level 2 equivalent
Proven post-qualification experience working within the electrical industry
Experience teaching or delivering electrical training (classroom, workshop, blended or remote delivery)
Strong, current knowledge of electrical installations and industry regulations
Teaching qualification at Level 5 (Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
Good presentation and communication skills
Confident IT skills and ability to use digital learning platforms
Understanding of Further Education and apprenticeship delivery
Desirable (but not essential)
Assessor qualifications (A1, D32/D33, TAQA)
Internal Verifier qualifications (V1, D34, TAQA)
Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely)
Experience within the electrical contracting or building services sector
