Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrician's Mate, preferably based in Huddersfield or the surrounding areas. Previous experience is essential. The ideal candidate must be reliable, flexible with working days, and willing to start early mornings.

You will support electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across a range of settings. This role requires a good understanding of electrical systems, the ability to use hand and power tools confidently, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key Duties

Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures Troubleshoot electrical issues and support repairs as required Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes and safety regulations Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Work collaboratively with electricians and other trades on site Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment Record work completed and report any issues to management
Requirements

Proven experience as an Electrician's Mate (essential) Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety practices Competent in the use of electrical hand and power tools Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Relevant electrical qualifications or certifications (preferred) Flexible availability and willingness to start early mornings
