Electronic Engineer
with strong experience in
analogue electronics and high voltage systems
to support our in-house development efforts.
The Role:
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys designing bespoke electronics from the ground up. You'll be involved in the full development lifecycle, from concept and design through to prototyping, testing and support for integration into complex scientific instruments. The role is ideally fulltime however we are happy to consider part time candidates
Key Responsibilities:
Design and development of custom analogue and high voltage circuitry
Schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping and testing
Collaborating with physicists and other engineers to translate system-level requirements into practical electronics solutions
Supporting and maintaining existing designs and resolving technical issues
Ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards
What We're Looking For:
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering or related field
Strong hands-on experience in
analogue circuit design
Solid understanding of
high voltage electronics
(typically in the 100V-3kV range)
Proficiency with schematic and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, or similar)
Comfortable using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) for diagnostics and testing
Good documentation and communication skills
Practical, problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in a small team
Desirable Extras:
Experience in scientific instrumentation or precision measurement systems
Exposure to vacuum systems, ion optics, or mass spectrometry (a bonus, not essential)
Embedded systems or firmware development (nice to have)
