We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our growing engineering team at Autotronics.
This is a hands on role working directly on automotive electronic units at circuit board level. If you enjoy fault finding, repairing electronics and understanding how things work rather than simply replacing parts, this role will suit you well.
Autotronics repairs and remanufactures a wide range of vehicle electronic control units for cars, vans and commercial vehicles. Our focus is on quality repairs, consistent processes and developing reliable long term solutions.
What you will be doing?
Your day to day work will include:
Evaluating and diagnosing faults in automotive electronic control units such as ECUs, ABS modules, instrument clusters, TCUs and EPS units
Identifying failed components and carrying out precise soldering and circuit level repairs
Analysing faults and deciding the most effective repair solution
Disassembling, cleaning, reassembling and inspecting units after repair
Testing repaired units using dedicated test equipment
Recording repair information and supporting quality checks
Working closely with other engineers to improve repair methods and reliability
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys technical work. You should be comfortable working with electronics at board level and take pride in producing neat and consistent repairs.
You should also be happy working as part of a small engineering team and be willing to learn as new products and systems are introduced
Experience and skills
You will be a strong candidate if you have:
A qualification in electronics or electrical engineering or equivalent hands on experience
Experience diagnosing and repairing electronic circuits
Good understanding of analogue and digital electronics
Confidence using soldering and rework equipment
Ability to work methodically and follow repair processes
Desirable experience
It would be useful if you have experience with:
Automotive electronic systems
Vehicle control units such as ECUs, ABS modules or instrument clusters
Microcontrollers, memory devices and power electronics
Reading schematics or PCB layouts
Basic understanding of low level programming such as C
What do we offer?
A stable and growing business with a strong reputation
A friendly and experienced engineering team
Vitality private health insurance
Ongoing training and exposure to a wide range of automotive electronics
Opportunities to develop your technical skills and progress over time
Competitive salary based on experience
Monday to Friday working hours (day shift)
