WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Electronics Engineer is responsible for all aspects of Electronics development to support the development and manufacture of the full range of products developed and supplied by REUK.



The role involves close collaboration within a wider multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the development, integration and verification process for new hardware components, products, systems, and bespoke test equipment, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.



This is a vital role in the innovation, development, maintenance and enhancement of the electronic hardware, foundational to the REUK product offering.



The individual will contribute to continuous product evolution in alignment with established product roadmaps and the overarching engineering strategy, as well as enabling new product developments and capabilities.


Responsibilities & Tasks





Responsibilities



Documentation: Generate high-quality engineering design documentation, including derived requirements documentation for electronic designs, detailed schematics, PCB data, product technical documentation and reports.



Innovation: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary development teams to deliver innovative solutions that address complex requirements, maximise value, and adhere to development timelines. Support early product development through to New Product Introduction (NPI).



Development: Generate electronic designs in adherence to specified requirements and internal processes, prioritising Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), usability, and maintainability for optimal hardware product development.



Collaboration: Actively participate in internal peer review processes to ensure design quality and technical integrity. Collaborate effectively with the broader team to secure essential product compliance certification.



Main Tasks



Development of complex, high speed, digital electronics hardware, with responsibility for design and verification.



Act as electronics lead on new product development initiatives and the continuous improvement of existing products.



Support and contribute to the electronic design process, managing all related peer reviews and approvals.



Conduct comprehensive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions for identified issues within existing products.



Facilitate the product lifecycle, encompassing initial development stages through to New Product Introduction (NPI).



Designing, developing, and deploying bespoke test equipment and jigs to support and streamline manufacturing processes.



Provided technical expertise to the Sales team to support development of technical proposals.



Champion a culture of continuous improvement to optimise internal processes, tools, and design methodologies.



Support the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Manager in breaking down complex requirements, capturing scope, generating estimates and identifying dependencies.


WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Skills



Essential



Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering.



At least 3 years experience in an electronics design.



Significant, demonstratable experience in hardware design for embedded electronics.



Demonstratable experience of supporting products throughout all stages of the development lifecycle.



Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as Altium Designer.



Experience of using LTspice, or similar, to simulate designs.



Stay current with new technologies and industry trends.



Ability to identify potential weaknesses and inconsistencies in designs.



Highly Desirable



Demonstrated knowledge or practical experience in designing electronic assemblies to meet EMC requirements.



Knowledge of power management, thermal management, and digital design.



Knowledge of programming languages allowing programming of microcontrollers.



Working knowledge of electro-optic systems and their functionalities.



Current UK Security Clearance (SC or DV), or the ability to obtain it.
