Aptia has an opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join the UK People Partner team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Working alongside two People Business Partners and reporting into the Lead People Partner, you will provide thoughtful, commercially aware, and legally sound advice to our people managers.
You will manage a range of complex cases--from absence and performance to disciplinary, grievance, and tribunal matters.
The role will work on a hybrid basis, ideally aligned to our Glasgow offices, but could consider other Aptia UK locations.
What you'll be doing:
Leading ER casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, whistleblowing, absence management, early conciliations, settlement agreements and tribunal claims
Providing risk-assessed, pragmatic guidance to managers that balances compliance with real-world business needs
Coaching line managers and delivering training that builds confident, capable leadership
Analysing ER trends and partnering with stakeholders to drive proactive people solutions
Supporting the continuous improvement of policies, processes, and ER-related projects
If this sounds like your ideal next role, here is what we're looking for:
Proven experience in managing a wide range of complex ER cases in a fast-paced environment, ideally in the financial services sector
A deep and current understanding of UK employment law and its application
Excellent judgement and decision-making skills with a focus on fairness and risk management
Strong interpersonal and influencing abilities
Organised, resilient, and able to handle a busy workload with ease
CIPD Level 3 or higher is helpful, but we value experience just as much
