The Role:



We are seeking a skilled and motivated Employment and Discrimination Law Solicitor to join our legal team. The successful candidate will handle a mixed caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with a particular focus on discrimination law. The role involves advising individuals and employers, preparing cases for tribunal and court, and contributing to broader legal strategy and policy development where appropriate. The Successful Candidate is expected to be also conversant with handling Legal Aid related Discrimination Claims.

Key Responsibilities:



Advising on unfair dismissal, redundancy, contracts, grievances, disciplinary issues, and whistleblowing Representing clients in Employment Tribunals and county/high court claims Advising and litigating on discrimination claims under the Equality Act 2010, including Discrimination not related to employment (Section 29 of the Equality Act). Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements Conducting legal research and staying updated on developments in employment and equality law Supporting internal and external training and client briefings Working autonomously and as part of a team on complex and sensitive matters Act as Discrimination Law Supervisor under our Legal Aid contract if required by us to do so. Participate in the Firm's Business Development drive.

Essential Requirements:



Qualified solicitor of England and Wales Strong knowledge of employment and discrimination law Experience managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills Commitment to high professional standards and client care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records using CCMS and internal case management systems.

Desirable Attributes:



2 years PQE (though all levels will be considered) Tribunal/court advocacy experience Familiarity with strategic litigation or public funded work Experience advising both claimants and respondents
