This role is currently funded to 30th June 2026 with the possibility of extension depending on funding.

This is an exciting opportunity to join RMBC in a role which supports some of the most vulnerable members of our community. The postholder will be responsible for delivering the Yorkshire and Humber International Recruitment project, funded by the Department for Health and Social Care on behalf of RMBC. The aim of the project is to support displaced migrant workers who require sponsored employment to enable them to care for the residents of our region and beyond.

The postholder will be responsible for managing a caseload of people who are seeking sponsored employment in the care sector. They will use their empathetic and compassionate approach to identify the specific circumstances of each person and offer them the appropriate support. This will include, but not be limited to:

Basic employability skills (supporting with CV, applications, interview preparation etc.). Signposting to pastoral support (CAB, charities, food banks etc.). Linking with care providers to identify vacancies and promoting the services of the YHIR project. Supporting individuals with the paperwork needed to apply for documentation. Reporting signs of abuse or exploitation to the relevant authorities.


The postholder will understand right to work legislation and visas and be confident in advocating for people who need it most. In addition to this, they will have knowledge of the care sector and the landscape of the labour market in that area.

The successful candidate will have experience of multiagency working and be confident attending meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for the participants of the YHIR project. The role provides opportunities to work with colleagues across Yorkshire the Humber and will enable the successful candidate to network with a range of people in different areas of discipline.

They will work closely with the commissioning team to ensure that care providers are practicing in line with expected laws and regulations, and that if they have certificates of sponsorship, or are willing to sponsor, they understand their responsibilities and are able effectively employ them.

This is a part time role at 2 days per week, between Monday and Friday. It will be based at Riverside House but there will be an expectation that postholder will be able to travel around the borough to visit providers. This post will have access to the Public Services Network, if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions).
