Can you help us with our ongoing mission?
At Capability Scotland, our mission is to deliver the highest quality services, tailored to the individual needs of disabled people. We work in partnership to create innovative solutions which enable our people to achieve their goals. We put our customers and learners at the heart of everything we do and will make sure their voices are heard loud and clear.
The role - Support Worker (Community Based, Enablement Support Work)
Following internal promotion, we're delighted to be hiring a Support Worker to join our Dumfries and Galloway Facilitation Service. This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with adults with physical disabilities, helping them build independence and achieve their goals in areas such as employment, education, volunteering, and community life.
Please note: This is a lone-working role in the heart of the community, with hybrid working. It includes a level of physical activity, such as pushing wheelchairs and providing physical support. With little to no personal care responsibilities, this roles focus is on enabling people with physical disabilities, to access their local community and social inclusion networks.
For ease of delivery and partnership working, with other community groups, candidates should have knowledge of the area, with local network connections and knowledge to build on. Due to our location and nature of the support we offer, it is essential that you are based in or within reasonable travel distance to Wigtonshire, with a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
What you need to know:
Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible, contact us to discuss)
Location: Wigtownshire (Hybrid working)
: Support Worker
A full driving licence and access to a car is essential
If you would like to discuss the post, please contact Stuart Black, Team Leader on 07957 203 169
