Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Energy Analyst to join JLL's Integrated Facilities Management business in a specific client account. The Energy Manager will lead the utilities management services for the account across several EMEA countries (initially 12 countries but seeking to grow in the medium term). Services include utilities procurement, invoice validation, retrospective invoice auditing, invoice payment management, invoice reporting, utilities consumption data capture and online systems data management, consumption data analytics and reporting, identifying opportunities to reduce consumption and save cost, and extensive client liaison. The Energy Manager will work closely with the Account Director and account Finance Manager to ensure overall client objectives are met. Some infrequent EMEA travel is required to attend client meetings, supplier meetings, management presentations etc.
Key Responsibilities
PPA Bill Validation & Reconciliation (UK)
Validate UK Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) bills for accuracy against contract terms and market data
Perform detailed reconciliations of PPA settlements, including imbalance charges and generation volumes
Analyse discrepancies between expected and actual PPA costs and resolve billing issues with suppliers
Monitor and track GOs/REGOs and other renewable energy certificates associated with PPAs
Utility Bill Validation
Conduct thorough line-item validation of utility bills across global deregulated energy markets
Verify tariff structures, consumption data, demand charges, taxes, and regulatory fees
Identify billing errors and pursue corrections with utility providers
Maintain comprehensive records of utility bill validations and cost recoveries
Energy Procurement Management
Coordinate energy procurement events across global deregulated markets
Analyse market conditions and pricing trends to recommend optimal procurement strategies
Prepare RFPs and bid documents for energy contracts
Evaluate supplier proposals and perform detailed cost analyses
Support contract negotiations with energy suppliers
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Educated to degree level
3+ years of experience in energy analysis, preferably with focus on bill validation and procurement
Experience working with UK power purchase agreements and global deregulated energy markets
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of electricity market structures, billing components, and pricing mechanisms
Proficiency with energy data analysis and bill auditing techniques
Experience with energy procurement processes and supplier negotiations
Advanced Excel skills and experience with energy management software
Knowledge of renewable energy certificates and associated compliance schemes
Personal Attributes
Exceptional attention to detail when analysing complex energy billing data
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
