Were looking for an enthusiastic and empathetic Enforcement Assistant to join our Stockton Collections Team. In this role, youll play a key part in recovering various debts owed to the Council, including Council Tax and Business Rates, whilst also providing support to our Enforcement Agents.



This role is 18.5 hours per week and the pattern of work is:

Week 1

- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Week 2

- Thursday Friday



What Youll Be Doing


Liaising with customers which includes; dealing with telephone enquiries where customers contact the enforcement team, making outbound calls to negotiate and make payment arrangements and to follow up on broken payment arrangements Providing excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism Communicating with external agencies, professionals and other sections and departments within the Council Working closely with colleagues in a collaborative and friendly team environment Helping to maximise collection whilst offering support and understanding


What Were Looking For


Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to successfully build rapport with customers A positive, can-do attitude and a team player Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload Ideally you will have experience in debt recovery or a similar customer-facing role Experience of dealing with confidential and/or sensitive information and the needs of vulnerable customers Strong ICT skills and the ability to record and process data accurately with attention to detail
