About the Role

We now have an excellent opportunity for an Engagement Team Manager within our Communications Team, to provide operational leadership for all engagement activities at Diamond, including resourcing, content planning and delivery for educational outreach and public engagement activities, planning, budget management and delivery and evaluation of corporate events and workshops, and student engagement.

To identify and manage partnerships and key relationships with external organisations and funders where these will deliver maximum value for the facility.

Key duties will include:

  • Managing evaluation and measurement of public engagement programmes, ensuring year-on-year strategic improvement and development.
  • Establishing and updating operational activity plans for engagement across three programmatic areas (public/schools, events, and student engagement), in line with best practice in the field of science communication/engagement and the wider vision and mission for Diamond.
  • Reporting and presenting on programmes to senior managers as required.
  • Deputising for the Head of Impact, Communications and Engagement as required.
  • Developing the Engagement Team strategy as part of the wider Impact, Communications and Engagement Team strategy alongside the Corporate Communication Team Manager and the Head of ICE.
  • Leading and managing the delivery of events & development programmes, typically engaging with 14,000+ users annually.
  • Acting as a senior representative for public engagement activities at Diamond, representing the organisation at key stakeholder events.
About You

The successful candidate will have a degree in Social Sciences, STEM, Communications or a relevant equivalent qualification or significant equivalent experience.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of:
  • Working within a successful communications or public engagement group.
  • Managing the operational delivery of complex engagement, education and/or communications projects.
  • Using and designing campaigns with digital tools which are key to dissemination and engagement (social media, community platforms etc.).
You will demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work as a team and build strong working relationships at all levels
