Engineering Apprenticeship

We currently have the opportunity for a Multi-skilled Engineering apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will join our Bottling Hall and Brewery Engineering team in Middleton, where we produce classic British Brands including Sarsons and Haywards alongside authentic Japanese sushi seasonings and vinegar OSU



Salary:



Aged under 21 - 8.20 per hour (apprentice rate).

Aged 21 and over - 12.21 per hour



Working pattern:



The successful applicant must be commutable to Middleton and Tameside.

Monday - Friday 39hrs per week. Split between attending college and working on site at Mizkan Middleton.

Apprenticeship Detail:



4 Year apprenticeship with Tameside College - 42 month apprenticeship followed by a 6-month end point assessment



4-year MOET Apprenticeship - (Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician)

During the 4 years you will study towards level 2 & 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

Year 1 - You will attend college 2 days per week. You will attend Mizkan Middleton site 3 days per week to work alongside our resident engineering team learning engineering skills and principles as well as building your MOET portfolio of evidence.

Year 2 & 3 - You will attend college 1 day per week and Mizkan Middleton site 4 days per week.

Year 4 - Will consist of a 6-month end point assessment. This will be carried in our Middleton site. This assessment is to ensure you have achieved the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard.

On completion of this apprenticeship, you will be a qualified Multiskilled engineer with a bias in either a mechanical or electrical discipline.



What we will train you to do

Work safely in an industrial food regulated environment and complying with regulations and processes Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities, identifying corrective maintenance required and carrying out this activity Work autonomously and prioritising your own workload Using Lean Manufacturing concepts with 5S, root cause analysis and continuous improvement, a part of our standard work tools Using various systems, such as Computer Maintenance Management, purchasing systems, Scada measuring and monitoring systems and Microsoft office suite Upholding the two Mizkan principles of offering customers only the finest quality products and continuously challenging the status quo

Requirements for this role:



GCSE level 4 or above in Maths, English & Science A keen interest in mechanical and electrical engineering Good communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent time keeping and organisational skills Committed to continuous improvement and progression A strong work ethic and positive outlook Proactive and able to work independently
