Homes - Performance & Delivery Lab

Location: Halifax or Leeds based, hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office.

Salary & Benefits: \xc2\xa373,616 to \xc2\xa392,020 base salary based on experience and grade, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

A Lab is a made of one or many teams who work together on key projects to deliver value at pace by designing services that people find useful, easy and engaging to use. Typically, a Lab has a solid focus on problem solving in an agile environment where engineers are creating innovative products which will transform the way our customers engage with us.

About the Role:

This role is engineering lead for Pricing Programme in Homes Platform. The Programme is responsible for transforming the way in which we price mortgage products, enabling the Bank to improve speed to market and the granularity of product pricing.

What will you do?

The Engineering Lead will work alongside the Pricing Programme Lead in crafting the vision for the Programme, and setting strategic direction for the engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate thought leadership on modern technical delivery, across the entire lifecycle from idea to realisation of value!

In this leadership role you\'ll be on point for designing and delivering the technical solution whilst working and mentoring a wide variety of technical Engineering subject areas, including Software Engineers, Quality Engineers and third party suppliers.

Change & Programme management activities could take up to half of your time, and you\'ll also support programme planning activities, risk management, resource management, hiring and team formation, dependency management across Labs and divisions.

We\'re looking for curious people with a real passion for, and dedication to growth and developing themselves and their teams with industry good practice, methods and tooling, and if necessary are able to work alongside engineers hands on.

To be considered we\'ll look for evidence of the following:

A career background within engineering, having worked up to a senior management level and having applied engineering skills directly into the work at enterprise solutions. Able to describe software products.

Experience of modern agile engineering practices: This includes knowledge of DevSecOps, quality engineering, systems thinking, service design, software vendor management, route to live and system design, software development lifecycle and automation knowledge.

Evidence of continuous learning, shown in accreditations, usage of language frameworks, software engineering practices and how they embed in agile working practice. The skilling should allow the candidate to be in the work to give direction and feedback.

Experience developing and implementing technology strategies

Leadership experience: Top class people leadership skills including being comfortable handling the expectations of customers, directors and engineers in your area.

Mortgage and / or Pricing domain specific knowledge would be desirable.
