A well-established and growing national housebuilder has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of housing projects across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise and a proven track record of managing engineering functions within a residential developer.

You will take ownership of engineering outputs from feasibility through to completion, ensuring all projects run smoothly and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager:

• Reporting to the Technical Director, you will oversee and manage the engineering function for multiple developments.
• Take full responsibility for securing technical approvals and ensuring all designs are coordinated and ready for site start.
• Manage the preparation, checking, and approval of engineering drawings and details, including foundations, sub-structure, highways, sewerage, and utilities.
• Liaise with external consultants, statutory bodies and internal departments to ensure projects progress in line with programme and budget.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Engineers within the team, driving continuous improvement and professional development.
• Proactively resolve technical challenges and implement solutions to maintain project momentum.

Requirements of the Engineering Manager:

• HNC/HND/BSc in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Significant experience in an engineering role with a residential developer, including management or supervisory responsibilities.
• Excellent technical knowledge of residential infrastructure, highways and drainage design.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering results.
