At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our team.
This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield and our Melt Shop department is where we produce liquid steel to up 285 tonnes.
As a Engineering Manager, you will provide effective leadership, management and direction to the departmental maintenance engineering team to ensure delivery of a high quality engineering service to support operations.
What you'll be doing
Leading, managing and inspiring the department's maintenance engineering team to deliver a high-quality and reliable engineering service.
Ensure all statutory inspections and safety systems are in place, promoting a strong Health & Safety culture.
Overseeing planned preventative maintenance programmes, shutdown planning, major repairs and ensuring plant reliability and performance.
Applying advanced failure analysis and condition monitoring techniques e.g thermography/tribology to identify and prevent potential failures.
Generate and present monthly maintenance reports, driving accountability and communication across Engineering and Production.
Applying Root Cause Analysis techniques and support the implementation of CMMS, working towards a continuous improvement culture.
Managing capital expenditure projects, plant modifications, and supplier relationships.
About You
Experienced engineering professional with at least 5 years experience in a maintenance/engineering leadership role (mechanical or multi-skilled background preferred).
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety in engineering environments, with a proven track record of driving improvements.
Demonstrated success in developing and managing preventative maintenance programmes.
CMMS experience (Shires/SAP) and effective use of RCA techniques.
Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team, showing strong leadership and people management skills.
Strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels and challenge constructively when needed.
Stays calm under pressure, with a proactive, problem-solving approach and high levels of energy, positivity, and drive.
IT proficient (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The Working Pattern
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00.
