Shifts - Two days followed by two nights, four days off.
Salary - 52,201.30
Act as a role model for safety and to take personal responsibility for their own safety and act when unsafe behaviour is observed or reported.
The job requires the consistent execution of routine tasks (daily / weekly / monthly). The role holder must be capable of effectively operating the plant and equipment within the Utilities work areas and perform maintenance activities to their competency level when necessary to meet production demands whilst maintaining the highest safety standards and product quality. The role of the Operator is to coach peers using the VPO tools and processes to ensure his team deliver results whilst maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
Accountabilities:Receive Handover from the Operator of the outgoing shift and ensure that all logs, checklists and SAP information has been updated by previous shift. Read handover log and pass on relevant information as required to rest of team and FLM. Prepares information for the morning Utilities Meeting in conjunction with FLM. Give an update of previous 24 Hours production and highlighting any issues identified at handover Plan activities for their shift to ensure they are completed in a timely manner, i.e order chemicals, CO2, PI follow-up Ensures all Chemical delivery processes are followed and entered within the required systems and paperwork processed. SAP, Checklist, Logs updated accurately throughout the shift to ensure all information is available for an accurate hand-over . Liaise with the Quality department regarding any out of spec utility Monitor the departments PI's and trends to identify performance issues and losses and address as necessary. Sigma - Monitor throughout shift and challenge departments of any booked Utility downtime that has not been agreed. Sigma - At start of shift challenge departments for any booked Utility downtime not agreed by previous shift MOP. Ensure the VPO process including 5Y, Abno reports e.t.c are completed on time and to the correct standard Report hazards via Hazard Report System. Record any accidents & incidents via Injury Notification Form and assist where possible in any subsequent accident/incident investigation. Inform FLM immediately. Monitor E&F performance and ensures the team reacts accordingly to remove the issue Ensure Zone Hygiene standards are maintained as per Zone Hygiene Sheets and VPO Standards are maintained. Report what has been achieved to FLM Discuss with team possible solutions in breakdown situations, support the fault finding / repair activities and escalate as necessary if required. Conduct handover to the oncoming Operator, providing details on all relevant shift issues via a walk around of plant. Complete shift logs with all the relevant data and the handover will include current E&S, Quality and all relevant plant issues both solved and unresolved, GLY, utility leakages, losses and material or quality issues. Support Operations by completion of tasks necessary to meet production demands as follows: + Perform Utilities Operator duties and plant running adjustments and changeovers to plant, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
+ Perform plant quality checks and analysis following SOP's, recording performance data in accordance with site procedures
+ Perform sampling duties as required
+ Ensure all Utilities materials conform to quality standards, and coordinate with Management to improve material performance
+ Ensure safe systems and working practices are maintained and adhered to
+ Assist in plant changeovers, non-running maintenance, breakdown and autonomous maintenance
+ Organise and remove waste and recycle in accordance with the Site Environmental Policy
+ Ensure departmental assets e.g. Plant / Materials / Pallets etc. are handled and stored in a manner that facilitates efficient low cost management
+ Support in creating and updating SOP's, One Point Lessons (OPL's) and Reaction Plans
+ Contribute to departmental Improvement Task Force (ITF) initiatives
+ Participate in shift ATO activities as required
+ Attend and participate in daily meetings as key team member
+ Comply with all statutory and legal requirements and with appropriate Utilities, quality and food hygiene safety regulations as defined by policy or legislation
+ Comply with all housekeeping, cleaning and 5S requirements
+ Ensure that internal and external customers are serviced in an efficient manner to the standard specified e.g. right quantity / right time
+ Undertake activities to support the department in achieving KPI targets
+ Undertake activities to support VPO compliance and sustainability
+ Undertake training for new skills and tasks as requested by Management e.g SKAP
+ Undertake reasonable Utilities related task, as directed by management
+ Comply with all documentation and system transaction requirements
+ Escalate any discrepancies to FLM


Key Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:Must be trained and adequately skilled to be able to train operators/craft to run/maintain all the core Utilities work areas e.g. WTP, Boilers, CO2 Recovery, Compressors Must have strong leadership capability. Good computer, numeracy, literacy and verbal communication skills Ability to operate effectively as part of a team and to work on their own, using initiative Capable of carrying out multiple roles within the area Demonstrate good understanding of KPI's/PI's and links to performance * Strong organisation skills with a structured and systematic approach, adhering to deadlines, able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload effectively
