If you are swift to action, confident to lead, willing to collaborate, and curious about what science can do, then you're our kind of person.
This is a fantastic opportunity as an Engineering Technician based at our Macclesfield campus. The site supplies products for most of the AstraZeneca therapy areas for global markets, and thus has phenomenal opportunities. You will be aligned to an area which is benefiting from large investment, and this is an excellent opportunity to experience this unique fast moving and dynamic environment whilst ensuring production levels meet given demands in a period of change.
In this role, you will deliver and sustain business objectives through providing engineering (Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation) expertise to maintain equipment / systems, resolving problems and implementing improvements, whilst always following GMP, SHE, and Financial requirements.
What you'll do:
Hold responsibility for maintaining and calibrating manufacturing equipment and support systems in accordance with maintenance strategies and schedules of work. The manufacturing process takes place in a controlled GMP environment adding a unique rigour and methodical approach to the maintenance programme of work.
By providing good customer service and maximising equipment availability, you will ensure a timely response to breakdowns, and provision of effective customer feedback. Through systematic fault-finding and problem solving, you will strive to understand instances of downtime, improve availability through identification of maintenance improvement, and drive the asset up-time by detailed investigation ensuring the delivery of closure actions.
You will set up systems / equipment in a timely manner, and right first time in order that functional performance aligns with operational parameters and statutory requirements. You will lead formal and informal training of less experienced Technicians, and mentor Operators to improve asset performance.
Using lean and manufacturing tools (such as RCM, RCA and CBM) you will actively participate in and deliver continuous improvement activities and projects. Working with your engineering colleagues you will support change initiatives required to drive ongoing business improvements by ensuring positive and constructive communication to enable and establish effective team working.
A good ability to fault find using structured problem-solving tools to support the GMP, SHE or productivity investigation processes. Working within a highly compliant and regulated industry you will ensure that GMP, and SHE regulations are adhered to.
