What you will be doing?

You will be responsible for:-

  • Working with the Head of Enterprise Risk to support and embed a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework within Thames Water.
  • Managing the implementation of enterprise risk management policies and processes across all business units.
  • Establishing effective lines of communication with internal key stakeholders/risk owners.
  • Collaborating with the business in the Identification and assessment of operational risks.
  • Ensuring enterprise risk management reporting requirements, internally and externally, meet the UK Corporate Governance Code and other statutory obligations.
  • Enhancing risk management philosophy and culture within Thames Water.
  • Providing support to ensure that risk management is an integral part of the decision-making process and is closely linked to Thames Water\'s business objectives and performance metrics.
  • Managing the risk registers and facilitating the identification, assessment and prioritisation of key risks within the business and assisting in the escalation of any risk for inclusion within the PR dashboard.
  • Building value relationships with business colleagues to support decision-making in the identification of risks.
What you will bring to the role?
Essential
  • Extensive enterprise risk management experience supporting the implementation of effective risk management strategies and frameworks in an organisation.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of current risk management frameworks.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, as well as have excellent presentation skills.
  • Able to operate effectively in a flexible, agile, way in the context of changing priorities of the wider team and the business.
  • Experience working with senior teams to deliver risk reports and analysis and being a trusted advisor.
  • Provide subject matter expertise.
  • Experience in developing and delivering risk training
  • Demonstrable experience developing collaborative working relationships, excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence, build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver quality deliverables to tight deadlines.
  • A strong sense of personal resilience and the ability to remain focused on the bigger picture.
  • Tenacity, drive and enthusiasm, completer finisher, proactive, comfortable constructively challenging business leaders, enthusiastic, motivated, adaptable and proactive.
Desirable:
  • Insightful business awareness with the ability to understand and analyse changing business contexts to assess and manage risk.
  • Ability to deliver at pace, meeting changing priorities.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and administering risk management information software solutions.
  • Experience in the utility industry, regulated environment or FTSE250.
  • Strategic thinker - fosters innovation.
Qualification:
  • Recognised qualification in Risk Management (e.g. BA Risk Management, CertIRM) or working towards one.

As part of your role, you\'ll be required to participate in a rota to provide Customer Incident Support, as requested by the Company from time to time. This may be by supporting our customers on the frontline as an Ambassador or being part of the team managing the incident as a Control Tower Lead. This is incredibly rewarding, and you\'ll be given full training - it\'s also a great opportunity to learn more about our business and meet colleagues.
