The role:
The role of the Environment Testing Engineer will be to contribute to Infrastructure projects, provide technical test expertise to squads in regards in infrastructure and environments, define Technical Test requirements and feed into Test strategies. They will need to manage and co-ordinate test environments to ensure there is a stable platform for IT change to be delivered on.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination and management of Test Environments focusing on: Maintenance of the Test Environment schedule, Coordination of the x-platform test environment preparation, providing guidance on environment best practice and set up
  • Contribute to the defining of new environment infrastructure set up and the creation of supporting documentation
  • Analysis, preparation and execution of technical testing for infrastructure projects
  • Tribe and Group wide communication of environment schedules, priorities, upcoming impacts/outages, common trends of issues and status reporting
  • Recognize and classify the typical risks associated with the performance, security, reliability, portability and maintainability of software systems
  • Create and proactive maintenance of SOPs and Environment topology generated from lessons learned and process improvement/efficiencies
Essential Experience:
  • Proven and demonstrated experience of Test environment management
  • Proven experience of testing within infrastructure projects
  • Desired technical skills covering: Advanced Excel knowledge, SQL, and platform experience of HP Non-Stop (Tandem), Windows, UNIX or Linux
  • Working in an Agile methodology with an open minded, analytical, forward thinking approach
  • Experience of working in the finance industry
Advantageous Experience:
  • Exposure to Test automation tools (UFT) and tools such as ALM/Azure DevOps
  • Experience of working in BDD, TDD environments
  • Knowledge of CICD pipelines and processes
  • Exposure to development or testing in Java and using Event Hub technology such as Kafka
