Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Environmental Sustainability, this new role will support the Firm to progress our environmental strategy. The Environmental Manager will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate environmental sustainability into the Firm's activities and processes.


The role will suit someone with previous experience, looking for an opportunity to help shape and guide the agenda within a supportive and progressive environment.

Roles and Responsibilities



Work closely with the Head of Environmental Sustainability and other key stakeholders to develop and implement the Firm's environment strategy Manage internal and external environmental data and reporting, including external assurance processes Lead the development and maintenance of the Firm's ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System, including acting as the lead for internal and external audits Prepare environment related content and responses for internal / external reports, presentations and requests for information. Lead on statutory and voluntary reporting requirements (such as SECR and EcoVadis) Work with colleagues across the business to develop and implement environmental engagement communications, programmes and initiatives Manage the Firm's internal environmental network (eFORCE) and provide subject matter expert support to other internal working groups and Committees as required Act as an advisor to colleagues across the Firm, providing practical technical environmental advice in relation to operations, best practice and compliance Identify potential areas of environment risk, making appropriate solutions and escalating as required Manage environmental projects, providing relevant management updates and liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required Represent the Firm at external networks and groups Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles


Skills and Experience

Hold an environment related degree and/ or have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role ISO 14001 internal / external auditor qualified or practical experience of working with ISO 14001 management systems, including legal compliance and operational application Experience and understanding of carbon accounting, target setting and reporting on progress Substantial knowledge in specialist area, including understanding of best practice in relation to environmental issues and the evolving sustainability landscape Stakeholder management experience
