The purpose of the Electrical Officer is to manage a variety of engineering and environmental duties including maintenance, installation, testing, and repair and commissioning of electrical services and equipment. This would include plant and equipment in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the integrity of engineering services and infrastructure of the hospital and to provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff.
Main duties, tasks & skills required

To function as Authorised Person in relation to specific maintenance responsibilities.
To support the Estates Maintenance Manager & Head of Estates in the provision of a high quality, responsive, flexible & cost-effective estates service to Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
To manage the statutory and mandatory aspects of the primary electrical plant e.g. Generators, LV/HV.
The post holder shall report to the Estates Maintenance Manager and work alongside fellow Estates Officers for day-to-day operational activities. Other key responsibilities may include Authorized Person (AP) and Competent Person (CP) duties for:
Piped Medical Gases.
Confined Spaces.
Ventilation, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
Working at Height.
Pressure Safety Systems.
