Job Description

Boden Group deliver facilities maintenance services and project works to the Ministry of Defence and commercial clients at multiple sites across the South West and South East.



We're recruiting for a QS & Estimator to support our facilities management and construction teams. This role is key to ensuring our projects and maintenance works are accurately costed, commercially sound, and delivered with confidence.

Main Duties of the role:



Analyse project and contract specifications, drawings, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates. Produce competitive estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and associated costs for both projects and core FM services. Perform quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive cost plans, bills of quantities, and schedules of rates. Measure, evaluate, and record project and contract progress. Undertake site visits to measure, evaluate, and record project works. Conduct value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities. Support contract variations, identifying financial implications and ensuring compliance with commercial procedures. Assist with procurement activities. Prepare invoices, applications for payment, and accurate cash flow forecasts. Identify and mitigate commercial risks for both projects and FM contracts. Engage with stakeholders, providing clear guidance on contract queries and cost-related matters. Collaborate with project teams, FM teams, and clients to clarify requirements and ensure alignment with organisational objectives. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to inform estimating and surveying practices. Continuously improve estimating and commercial procedures to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Required Skills and Abilities:



Relevant qualification in a surveying-related field, such as Quantity Surveying or Property Surveying. Proven experience in cost estimation and commercial management across projects and facilities management contracts. Knowledge of facilities management processes and contractual frameworks. Familiarity with cost management principles and supplier engagement.

Desirable:



Accreditation in RICS or a similar professional body. Experience with M&E systems and risk management. Familiarity with MOD or similar procurement processes. IACCM/WCC Practitioner CIPS or equivalent CIWFM
