Estimator - Carpentry & Joinery

Location:

Basildon, Essex

Hours:

Part-time / Flexible (not full-time)


Due to the upcoming retirement of our long-standing part-time estimator, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our small-medium sized carpentry and joinery company based in Basildon.


We predominantly work with

main contractors

, delivering a wide range of carpentry and bespoke joinery projects.

What we do:

Windows and doors. Bespoke desks. Labour-only carpentry packages. Bespoke architectural joinery. Bespoke cabinetry.
Complete joinery fit-out packages.


Our project values vary considerably, ranging from

small works around 1,000

to

larger projects up to 400,000

.

The role will include:

Pricing and estimating a wide range of carpentry and joinery projects. Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Attending site visits and carrying out measurements when required. Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Producing basic workshop sketches where necessary.
Supporting the business during the pre-construction process.

The ideal candidate will:

Have proven experience estimating carpentry and/or joinery works. Be organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware. Be confident communicating with clients and contractors. Be comfortable working independently.
Have a good practical understanding of joinery and construction methods.
