Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Evening Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and cooking meals in a professional setting, ensuring high-quality food service for our residents or guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and food safety standards, with a passion for creating delicious and nutritious dishes. Prior experience in dietary departments or fine dining environments is highly desirable. The Evening Cook will play a vital role in maintaining the quality and presentation of meals served during evening hours.

Duties



Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications, dietary guidelines, and customer preferences Plan menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate special dietary needs Ensure all food is prepared safely, following proper food handling and sanitation procedures Assist with meal plating and presentation to ensure an appealing appearance Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas throughout the shift Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management Collaborate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service Follow all food safety regulations and standards to prevent contamination or spoilage Assist with catering events or special meal requests as needed

Skills



Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurant, catering, or food service environments Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques Skilled in menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary requirements Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods Experience with fine dining or upscale food presentation is a plus Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy evening hours Knowledge of the food industry standards and kitchen operations Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is advantageous but not required
