Position Overview:

The Event First Responder is a crucial member of the event safety team, responsible for providing immediate and effective medical care and emergency response services during events. This role requires a highly responsible and trained individual with a focus on health, safety, and well-being of event attendees, staff, and participants. The successful candidate will be able to perform under pressure, maintain a calm demeanor, and carry out their duties efficiently in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Medical Care:

- Provide first aid, CPR, and emergency medical care to individuals in need during the event.

- Stabilise and manage patients until they can be handed over to professional medical services or until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive.

Incident Management:

- Quickly respond to medical emergencies, accidents, and incidents within the event premises.

- Report and document incidents accurately and promptly.

Preparedness & Equipment:

- Ensure all first aid kits, medical supplies, and equipment are stocked, functional, and ready for use.

- Set up and manage first aid stations at strategic locations within the event venue.

Coordination:

- Work closely with event organisers, security personnel, and other emergency responders to coordinate effective incident responses.

- Communicate effectively with event staff and emergency services to facilitate efficient incident management.

Training & Compliance:

- Stay informed about the latest first aid techniques, safety protocols, and medical advancements through regular training and certification renewal.

- Adhere to legal, health, and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications:

Essential:

- Certified in FREC 3/4 with yearly BLS/ILS Certs.

- Proven experience in emergency medical care, preferably in an event setting.

- Strong knowledge of emergency response protocols and procedures.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations effectively.

Desirable:

- Experience working in large-scale public gatherings or events.

- Additional certifications in advanced life support, trauma care, or related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer oxygen therapy and other basic emergency treatments as directed.

Transport and Logistics:

- Assist in the safe lifting, moving, and transporting of patients using appropriate equipment and techniques.

- Ensure the ambulance is stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the ambulance.

Emergency Response:

- Respond promptly to emergency calls as directed by the dispatcher.

- Drive the ambulance in compliance with safety regulations and road laws, ensuring the safety of crew, patients, and the public.

- Assist with scene management and communicate effectively with other emergency response teams.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Record patient information, treatment provided, and other relevant data accurately and promptly.

- Complete necessary documentation and reports as required by EMS protocols and regulations.

Training and Development:

- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain skills and certifications.

- Stay informed about the latest medical guidelines, procedures, and technologies.

Compliance and Safety:

- Adhere to all health, safety, and legal regulations concerning medical care and emergency response.

Qualifications:

Essential:

- Completion of an accredited Emergency Care Assistant training program.

- Certification in FREC 4 or Trust ECA/ECSW.

- Certification in Emergency Response Driving.

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.

Desirable:

- Previous experience in a healthcare or emergency services setting.

- Additional certifications such as trauma care.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Response:

- Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.

- Drive the ambulance following road safety laws and protocols to ensure the safety of crew, patients, and the general public.

Patient Care:

- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions.

- Provide immediate, high-quality care including Immediate life support (ILS), wound dressing, oxygen administration, and other pre-hospital treatment.

- Assist paramedics with advanced life support (ALS) procedures as needed.

Transport and Transfer:

- Safely lift, move, and transport patients using appropriate equipment and protocols.

- Ensure patients are comfortably and securely transported to the nearest or most appropriate medical facility.

- Handover patient information effectively to receiving medical staff.

Equipment and Ambulance Maintenance:

- Ensure the ambulance and its equipment are cleaned, restocked, and maintained after each call.

- Conduct regular checks on medical equipment and supplies to ensure they are in working order.

Record Keeping:

- Accurately document patient information, treatment provided, and observations in accordance with EMS protocols.

- Complete incident reports and other necessary paperwork promptly and efficiently.

Training and Development:

- Participate in continuous training and professional development programs to maintain and upgrade skills and certifications.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical guidelines, procedures, and advancements.

Compliance and Safety:

- Adhere to all legal and health and safety regulations.

- Follow infection control protocols and practices, ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

Essential:

- Completion of an accredited Emergency Ambulance Technician program.

- Certification in IHCD Ambulance Aid, FREC 5 and AAP.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to perform under pressure and in stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Response:

- Respond swiftly to emergency calls as dispatched.

- Navigate the ambulance to emergency scenes while adhering to road safety laws and protocols.

Advanced Patient Care:

- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical conditions using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.

- Administer advanced life support (ALS) interventions, including IV therapy, medication administration, advanced airway management, defibrillation, and other critical procedures.

- Stabilise patients and provide high-quality emergency medical care at the scene and en route to the hospital.

Coordination and Communication:

- Collaborate effectively with other emergency responders, including First Responders, ECAs, EMTs, police, and fire department personnel.

- Communicate clearly with patients, family members, and bystanders, providing reassurance and guidance as needed.

- Provide accurate and detailed patient handovers to receiving healthcare providers at medical facilities.

Equipment and Ambulance Maintenance:

- Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are maintained, clean, and ready for use.

- Perform regular checks on ambulance equipment and report any deficiencies or malfunctions.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Accurately document patient information, observations, treatment provided, and outcomes.

- Complete incident reports and other necessary paperwork in accordance with EMS protocols and regulations.

Training and Development:

- Participate in continuous professional development and training programs to maintain and enhance skills and certifications.

- Stay informed about the latest medical protocols, procedures, and advancements in emergency care.

Compliance and Safety:

- Adhere to all legal and health and safety regulations governing pre-hospital medical care.

- Follow strict infection control protocols and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

Essential:

- Certification as a Paramedic by an accredited institution.

- Registered with the HCPC.

- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS)

- Excellent decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to remain calm and perform effectively under pressure.

Desirable:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Certification in Emergency Response Driving.

- Additional certifications in trauma care, critical care, or other specialised areas.

- Previous experience working as a Paramedic in an urban or high-volume EMS system.
