As an Event Manager at Encountr, you will play a key role in crafting extraordinary, experience-driven events that unite the world's finest in wine, dining, and luxury. Encountr is seeking a full-time Event Manager to support leadership and a growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for:
Event Coordination
Owning the full life cycle of an event, from negotiation, contract agreements, execution and account management.
UK and International events coordination and travel where required.
Being present at all stages of an event, in-person and out of hours where required.
Working alongside an external advisor of the company to build experience and navigate conflicts.
Project Management functions
Project Management will be a central part of this role; agility, detail orientation and speed with software and coordination is key.
Owning event project management boards and updating these in real time, working alongside the Founder's Associate to coordinate administrative functions related to events and suppliers.
Identifying bottlenecks.
Task and deadline tracking.
Supplier / Production Acquisition and negotiation
Managing our supplier relationships for cost-effective and long-term partnerships.
Keeping up to date with 'correct' costs for supplies/production/etc.
Alignment
Ensure alignment with Co-Founders and the Founders' Associate in relation to non-Event KPIs such as marketing, member acquisition, client management, CRM management, etc.
This position will come with initial training, but the agility of the wider business means feedback and changing is key. KPIs will be set for the wider team, with above-target performance bonuses to be set up in Y3.
There is scope within this role to become a department head or team lead over time. This role will work directly with the Co-founders and external advisor and eventually with Business Leads, if the candidate does not take over the department themselves.
Duties and Responsibilities
Immediate Responsibilities:
Oversee upcoming Q4 2025 events alongside the Co-Founders.
Manage the lifecycle of event coordination alongside Co-Founders, from conception to execution.
Liaise with Founder's Associate on building out comprehensive PM boards and tools, with automations and follow-up cues where required.
Source and coordinate advisors, clients, suppliers, partners and service providers.
Understand and serve our customers and prospects.
Represent the company at networking events and internal events where required (including some evenings and weekends).
Future Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities for improvement and cost-effective solutions.
Determine prioritization of different features of the company.
Conduct competitive and market analysis bi-annually to inform event strategies.
Manage new event coordinator hires and team.
Determine and help monitor the company's success by tracking KPIs.
Become a thought-leader in the industry in support of Encountr.
Serve as a mentor and ally to the wider team to help them grow through your contributions.
Required Experience/Skills
Ability to work in the UK.
Willingness to learn, ambition to grow, and an agile mindset.
Self-starter, confident, positive, client-facing, and resourceful.
Positive, organized leader able to collaborate and influence others.
3+ years of experience in event management, preferably with a focus on hospitality, wine, dining and/or luxury.
Experience in/with the service industry.
Proficiency (or willingness to learn) relevant Project Management software, Google Services, Website Development, Marketing Skills, SEO, etc.
Ability to form relationships outside of the internal team, and to cultivate new business over time.
Comfortable with travel.
Nice-to-Haves
Interest in wine, gastronomy, art, luxury, fashion.
An existing network of thought-leaders, customers, partners.
An existing network of service providers, preferred systems.
Education
BA required.
Technical training may be considered in lieu of degree.
