Event & Sales Manager
Job Description
We are looking for a competent Event Manager to generate a robust calendar of events maximising the PQ Event Space facility within Princes Quay Shopping Centre.
Working closely with the on-site management team the successful candidate will be required to canvass, secure, oversee and manage a busy programme of events that will generate a regular income and hub of activity within the PQ Event Space.
Events are required to be successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints working with the clients to fulfil individual requests and stipulations.
The Event Manager is, above all, a project manager who understands marketing and promotion techniques. We want to see enthusiastic candidates with fresh ideas and the organisational skills required to not leave anything about an event to chance.
Responsibilities
Canvass PQ Event Space to potential clients showcasing the facilities to prospective bookings
Reach sales targets set, generate sales income through bookings
Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
Run a comprehensive calendar of events, ensuring comms are maximised across the business
Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
Be in charge of coordinating with others within the organisation to book bar staff, sound engineers, security and cleaners
Supervise all staff (event coordinators, caterers etc.)
Approve all aspects before the day of the event
Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur
Analyse the event's success and prepare reports
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as event and sales manager
Skilled in project management
Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office
Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
Excellent organisational skills
Customer-service orientated
A team player with leadership skills
