We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our award-winning Event Management Company based in the heart of Staffordshire, as part of our ongoing expansion plans.
Established in 1990, KDM Events are a serial winner of the Gold Award for "Best Event Provider" at the prestigious M&IT Awards. Our permanent team of 28 specialise in organising and delivering a vast range of corporate events - from conferences and roadshows, finding venues & away days, to team-building and themed parties.
About you!
A minimum of 5 years relevant events industry experience is a must, and strong preference will be given to candidates coming from an agency background or position.
You must be able to work without constant direction, be self-motivated and a commitment to your career is vital - we aren't the micro managing types!
Candidates will have a confident manner suitable to cultivating & developing relationships both over the phone & face to face, with a wide range of customer contacts up to a senior level.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and industry events.
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the company's customer base.
Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop promotional strategies and campaigns.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform business strategies.
Attend meetings, conferences, and trade shows to promote the organisation's services.
Skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Prepare compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
Working patterns, salary & progression:
The role is a full-time & permanent position, based in our Trentham office and working a 40 hour week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm (although we finish at 4pm every other Friday!)
As standard all employees work from home on a Wednesday & are office-based the remainder of the week, however as the role will have a large element of client meetings and attendance at events, this pattern may vary for the right individual.
A salary in the range of 32,000 to 35,000 shall be offered, in addition to company bonus scheme along with mileage, pension & laptop etc - holiday entitlement is 25 days plus Bank Holidays.
Whilst progression within the company is dependent on both company and individual performance - the role will suit an ambitious individual with the desire to further develop their career.
