A bit about what you will be doing:
Purpose of job: To provide a seamless Event and/or dining experience and oversee the full guest journey, both in rooms and F&B, by providing a highly efficient and effective service. Ensuring standards are maintained both back of house and front of house and customer needs are anticipated in accordance with the hotel's values and standards.
DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
CUSTOMER SERVICE
To welcome guests to the Events space and offer personalized service along with the appropriate South Place experience.
To deliver a consistently high standard of guest service within the department.
To personally oversee and personalise the guest journey.
To provide an efficient, fair and professional solution when handling all guest request & feedback.
Maximize incremental sales opportunities by adding customer value at every opportunity.
SERVICE STANDARDS
To be aware of the Hotel Skills & Standards and to ensure these are followed throughout the team.
To be aware of all events taking place within the department while on duty, and to be aware of timings of arrivals/ breaks/ departure times, ensuring that the waiters are positioned where they need to be to ensure standard of service.
To ensure the policies and order of service for front of house is followed at all times.
To carry out additional reasonable duties and projects as directed by your manager or guests without the loss of efficiency and composure.
To adhere to all health and safety policies and practices.
DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
To represent the hotel as a role model professionally, socially and ethically.
To be accountable for the smooth operation of each shift.
To ensure South Place Hotel grooming and appearance standards are maintained throughout the Events team to display a professional image to our guests. The uniform must be provided in good condition, clean and presentable.
To manage and inspire the Events waiters on a daily basis ensuring that daily briefings are carried out to ensure effective communication and standard of service.
Assumes a responsibility and enforcement in areas of set up, service quality, service delivery, colleague discipline, cost control, guest/colleague satisfaction, safety/ security and maintenance issues of the Events operation and ensures that the standards are met throughout the team.
Assist the Front of House teams with daily operations and act as a Manager on Duty. Help to maintain a 'one team' environment throughout the hotel
To meet and greet the guests in order to become one of their main contacts during their event and ensure contact is made with the Events Host/Organiser on their arrival.
To act as a lobby ambassador throughout the day and provide a strong support to all departments when required and channel the business to all areas of the hotel.
To have full knowledge on daily Food & Beverage business, daily occupancies, and guest treatment in the front of house, e.g. VIP arrivals.
To consistently sell or upsell hotel facilities to in-house guests, e.g. recommend the F&B outlets, spa services, etc.
To adhere to the department's operational budget and ensure that all costs are controlled through effective care and storage of all equipment.
To attend training and meetings as required by your Manager. To conduct and contribute to regular departmental communication meetings.
To handle complaints with specific personalised attention to our guests. To encourage feedback from our guests.
To encourage efficient and effective inter-departmental communication to promote a climate of teamwork and motivation
To perform show rounds of the hotel in absence of the Sales team.
To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to the Hotel procedures.
To attend fire training and to be fully conversant and compliant with the rules concerning fire, health & safety.
To carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by any member of the management team.
