Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in commercial driving. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. The Driver will also be responsible for performing basic maintenance checks on the vehicle and ensuring it is in optimal working condition.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a vehicle to transport goods to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is mechanically sound.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety at all times.
- Assist with basic mechanical tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or adjustments to the vehicle.

Experience

- Proven experience in commercial driving is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is essential for performing basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle.
- Ability to dig into problems and troubleshoot issues that may arise during transportation.
- A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type being operated is required.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
