JS Coachworks are looking to hire an experienced Bookkeeper and Credit Controller. Must have extensive experience with Sage and Xero. This position is office based, and we will provide free onsite parking. As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth administrative processes. You will also:
Accurately record daily financial transactions to maintain up-to-date financial records
Manage accounts payable and ensure suppliers are paid promptly
Reconcile client bank accounts and compile monthly financial reports
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing your own ledger, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining customer engagement. You will chase outstanding debt through various channels including phone and email. Your role will also involve handling queries, resolving issues, and flagging potential financial risks.
Duties
Monitor and manage the credit control process to ensure timely payments from clients.
Prepare and send out invoices, statements, and reminders for overdue accounts.
Conduct credit checks on new clients and assess their creditworthiness.
Liaise with clients regarding payment terms and resolve any disputes or queries related to invoices.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications with clients in accounting software.
Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure alignment on financial processes.
Generate reports on outstanding debts and provide insights to management regarding cash flow forecasts.
Assist in the development of credit control policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and Sage is essential
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
