Office Manager and Credit Controller - Livestock Auction (Milnthorpe, LA7 & Lancaster LA1)



North West Auctions Ltd (part of the L&K Group plc Group of Companies) operates two very successful livestock auction marts in the northwest of England.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to oversee our administrative operations across both our mart sites. The role of Office Manager and Credit Controller will be a demanding yet rewarding role for someone with a passion for our rural agri-businesses.

You will be managing a small team ensuring efficient day-to-day operations of our offices before, during and after each sale, supporting the auctioneers as they continue to grow the business. A pivotal part of this role is to implement and maintain robust credit control procedures, using skills to manage the sales ledger, invoice collection, setting and monitoring credit limits and reporting to senior leadership. We are also interested in candidates who can show proven marketing expertise with social media and CRM systems.

: You will oversee and motivate a small team across both locations ensuring the smooth operation of each sale.

Credit Control Expertise

: Strong credit control skills are essential to manage accounts effectively and ensure timely payments in line with company policies.

Rural Business Acumen

: A solid understanding of the rural agricultural sector is key to excelling in this role.

Exceptional Communication

: You will be an outstanding communicator, able to liaise effectively with farmers, buyers, staff, and the senior leadership team.

Digital Savvy

: Proficiency in social media and a strong ability to adapt to and utilise modern IT systems are crucial for our successful business. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

Flexibility

: Our sales programmes dictate our hours, so you will need to be flexible and prepared to work some Saturdays, a small number of evenings, and bank holidays.

Salary range 30,000-35,000 commensurate with experience.
