Overview:


An opportunity has arisen for an experienced bookkeeper / finance assistant with a proven track record in private practice to join a busy Chartered Accountants office near Paisley. The firm is independently owned and has seen significant growth in recent years with a strong reputation and value for delivering exceptional service to clients.

Duties and responsibilities:



Processing and maintaining accurate financial records for clients, Bank account and nominal reconciliation including supplier reconciliations where required, Preparation and submission of VAT returns, Knowledge and experience of management and processing of payroll for multiple clients, Month end trial balance review with an inquisitive mindset, Working with the rest of the team to assist with end-to-end process of accounts preparation and upcoming MTD for income tax, Liaising with clients requesting information and HMRC resolving queries,

Skills and Experience

:

At least three years experience in a similar role most likely from a small or medium sized practice thus allowing a broad range of experience and knowledge to be brought to the role. Strong knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero, FreeAgent & Dext. Essential to have good technical knowledge for bookkeeping, payroll and UK Vat, Personable, warm and confident personality with a positive can do attitude, Eligibility to work in the UK - no ability to provide sponsorship Preferable bookkeeping or similar payroll qualification [i.e. AAT or IAB] Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff and clients at all levels effectively. Creative approach to problem solving and ability to balance initiative with seeking help.
This role is office based full time, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm) however applicants seeking a more flexible or part time [pro rata] employment with the above skill set should still apply indicating this with their application.
