We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, particularly within care homes and home care settings. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support meal preparation and ensure that clients receive nutritious meals according to their dietary needs.
Administer medication as per care plans and ensure compliance with medical instructions.
Maintain accurate records of client care, including any changes in health or behaviour.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety at all times.
Respond promptly to client needs and emergencies while adhering to first aid protocols when necessary.
Skills
Experience in a Supported living and Home based care (working minimum of 12 hours in people's homes) settings setting is highly desirable.
Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care practices is beneficial.
Experience of working with Autistic and Learning Disability People
Proficiency in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary requirements.
Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and adherence to care plans.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect towards clients at all times.
Capable of working within professional confines and under the guidance of the Registered Manager
