compassionate, highly competent female Care Assistant
to support a client with complex, multi-system health conditions in the YO11 area of Scarborough. This role is strictly for professionals with excellent attention to detail, high clinical awareness, and a calm, allergy-conscious approach.
This is a
scent-free, allergen-controlled
home environment that requires strict adherence to hygiene protocols and communication boundaries. The successful candidate must be reliable, respectful, and capable of working quietly in a low-stimulation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent, high-quality personal care and support throughout the day
Assist with mobility (right-side support only) using equipment such as stairlift, ETAC chair, and commodes
Prepare soft, allergy-safe meals and ensure client hydration (4-6L/day)
Administer supplements and prompt medications.
Maintain strict hygiene standards and use only approved cleaning products and equipment (e.g., Polti steam cleaner)
Support dressing, bathing, hair washing (max twice weekly), and compression garment application
Carry out domestic duties including laundry, dishwashing, and dust-mite control
Keep accurate documentation of care, hydration, bowel movements, and any incidents
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, including signs of anaphylaxis
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year's professional care experience (domiciliary or complex needs preferred)
Excellent spoken and written English
Full understanding of infection prevention and control, including correct PPE usage
Non-smoker and must
not use
perfume, scented products, or latex gloves
Physically fit and able to support mobility as described
Confident preparing soft, healthy meals and managing hydration needs
Strong documentation skills and ability to follow care plans precisely
Able to work in silence or minimal verbal communication during 'crash' periods
Desirable:
Knowledge of ME/CFS, PoTS, and PEG allergy management
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
Experience working in quiet, low-stimulation environments
Understanding of trauma-informed care and patient-led routines
This is not a standard care role.
