Excavator Operator
to join our skilled site team
The Role
You will be working as part of a roadworks and civils crew on a variety of projects, including highways, drainage, kerbing, and general groundworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of groundwork and a solid understanding of site safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all aspects of groundwork including excavation, ducting, drainage, concreting, kerbing, and paving.
Prepare and level ground to required specifications.
Operate small plant and tools safely and efficiently.
Lay and compact sub-bases and surfaces to line and level.
Assist with installation of street furniture, services, and utilities as required.
Follow site safety rules, RAMS, and company procedures at all times.
Work effectively as part of a team under the direction of the Site Supervisor or Foreman.
Be reliable
Requirements
Have own transport - essential.
Proven experience in groundwork within roadworks or civil engineering.
CSCS card (essential).
CPCS or NPORS tickets for plant operation (e.g. dumper, roller, excavator) - desirable.
Street Works (NRSWA) accreditation - desirable.
Hold a current full UK driving licence (Manual) and own transport preferred. - essential.
Ability to read and understand drawings and levels.
Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Must be able to prove that they have the right to work within the UK. (Passport)
The role requires clear and effective spoken communication in English.
