Experienced Kennel Assistant
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced team member to come and work in our fast paced five-star friendly boarding kennels where you will look after all aspects of the dogs needs including cleaning, walking, feeding, bathing and medicating the dogs in our care.
The ideal candidate must be a team player, self-motivated, conscientious and friendly with good customer service and most importantly, be passionate about dogs to ensure they have the best experience possible.
They must also have had prior experience within the animal industry and be prepared for a physically demanding role working on the go and in all-weather types.
You would work five shifts per week including weekends and bank holidays as well as a 3 hour shift on Christmas Day. Ability to get to work under your own steam is a must as we are in a remote location and all candidates must have a full, clean, manual driving license.
Responsibilities -
Maintain a high standard of care and welfare to all dogs as if they were your own. Ensure all kennels, enrichment runs and surrounding areas are presentable. Preparing and administration of feed and medication in accordance with the animals dietary and medical requirements.
Key Requirements -
Proven experience in the animal care industry, ideally within a kennel setting or relevant qualifications. Confident in handling a range of dog breeds and temperaments, including those with challenging behaviours. Basic understanding of animal behaviour. Compassionate, patient and committed to providing all our clients with exceptional care. Reliable, detail orientated and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Full clean UK driving license. Applicants MUST be over the age of 21 for insurance purposes.
Desirable -
Relevant animal qualifications would be advantageous.
