J McRobb Butchers are looking for an experienced production Butcher to join our team. An excellent understanding and knowledge of the trade is essential.
This position is located at our preparation unit in Charnock Richard, Chorley. At this location we prepare products to send out to our 2 sites in Standish & Chorley and serve a number of local restaurants.
Duties will include:
- Boning and processing fresh raw meat (including Beef, Lamb & Pork)
- Curing & Smoking of Bacon
- Sausage & Burger making
- Order picking for our retail shops
- Cutting orders to customer specification for the restaurant trade
- Stock control and rotation
- Working in a clean and tidy manner
Skills & Experience:
- Skilled butcher with cutting, boning and knife skills
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge & awareness of all hygiene & HACCP requirements, ensuring the highest standards at all times
- Responsible individual with commitment to their work
- Ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative
- Controlling & keeping waste to a minimum
