Wood & Wood Signs Ltd is seeking an experienced, highly organised, and delivery-focused Project Manager to oversee the successful planning, coordination, manufacture, and installation of signage and wayfinding schemes across the UK. The role requires strong client-facing skills, an understanding of engineered solutions, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion within strict programmes and quality standards.
Reporting to the senior management team, the Project Manager will act as the primary point of contact for clients, internal teams, and installation engineers, ensuring seamless project delivery aligned with Wood & Wood's reputation as one of the UK's most trusted signage partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Coordination
Lead the full project lifecycle: briefing, surveys, design development, manufacture, installation, and handover.
Produce detailed project plans and critical paths.
Coordinate with in-house design, production, technical, and installation teams to ensure accurate interpretation of specifications.
Liaise with external stakeholders including architects, contractors, planners, facilities managers, and brand teams.
2. Client Management
Serve as the dedicated point of contact for assigned clients, providing regular progress updates and prompt responses to queries.
Lead project meetings, both in-person and virtual, clearly communicating technical and programme information.
Build long-term client relationships through reliability, clarity, and proactive issue resolution.
Prepare and present project reports, including cost tracking, progress summaries, and installation completion documents.
3. Technical Oversight
Understand engineering drawings, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements would be a distinct advantage.
Work closely with the Technical Director and design team to approve drawings, prototypes, and samples.
Ensure all technical information is accurate, complete, and aligned with client brand standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Risk Management & Compliance
Identify and mitigate project risks relating to production, delivery logistics, site conditions, and installation.
Coordinate site surveys and ensure survey data is accurately captured and communicated.
5. Installation Management
Work closely with the Installation Manager to plan and deliver national installation programmes.
Monitor installations remotely and visit sites as required to ensure quality standards are met.
Resolve site issues promptly, ensuring no disruption to the programme.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain clear and accurate job files including correspondence, drawings, approvals, and variations.
Produce client-ready completion reports with photographic evidence, certifications, and handover documents.
Use Wood & Wood's internal systems to manage workflows, track progress, and maintain auditable project records.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum
5 years' project management experience
within signage, shopfitting, construction, manufacturing, or a related engineered product environment.
Proven track record delivering multi-site or large-scale signage/wayfinding projects.
Strong technical understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and installation methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior client stakeholders.
Ability to interpret architectural drawings, site plans, brand guidelines, and engineering schematics.
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Strong budgeting, cost-tracking, and commercial awareness.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management tools, and PDF markup software.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
