Job Purpose



Due to an increased workload and expanding portfolio with our regular Client base, we are looking for a Project Manager to work as part of a small team based in our Sunderland office, on innovative and bespoke projects. This is a Client facing role requiring a visible leadership presence on site, with an appropriate command of the details of the projects in build.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to become part of a hardworking and expanding business; and who can undertake responsibility for the delivery of projects from conception and tender stage through to on-site completion.

The successful applicant will support Eomac's corporate objectives by working effectively as part of the senior management team. This is a full time, permanent position with a competitive salary; working Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am - 3.30pm with a competitive salary. Duties & Responsibilities



Strategic Leadership



Demonstrate an experience of multi trade major construction projects from inception through to completion ideally within the leisure, office or mixed-use sectors.

Uphold and manage a multi-facetted and flexible approach with management oversight for all phases of multiple projects across site at any one time producing a quality product safely and professionally: within set budgets and to agreed timescales and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Play an active leadership role in ensuring the Project Management and Design teams carry out their work to the highest standards of quality, cost effectiveness, timeliness and safety.

Provide problem-solving, quality assurance and risk management support at a senior level.

Project Management



The successful candidate will integrate quickly with an established team and have a strong ability to lead projects from concept to completion, demonstrating sound technical and administrative skills, and a pedigree of construction, health and safety and project logistics.

Pre Construction



Manage the interface between design and construction teams during the pre-construction phase, ensuring robust arrangements for delivery are in place.

Undertake preconstruction inspections and surveys, establish conditions and recommend remedial action.

Produce a Schedule of Information Required to meet the build programme.

Project Mobilisation



Interpret Client designs from inception to completion.

Focus on the process of site start and delivery programmes with the knowledge and skill set required for the day to day running of projects.

Negotiate with project stakeholders in managing schedules of work and delegate tasks to senior colleagues and their teams, to ensure that each phase of the build is completed as planned and that the impact of project activities is regularly evaluated.

Meet with other multi-disciplinary professionals and Clients at an early stage to agree project programmes.

Project Control



Implement recognized project control techniques including value and risk management.

Prepare estimates of materials and labour for quotation purposes and use throughout the construction phase.

Lead the overall planning and delivery of a programme of construction projects to meet the strategic goals of the Company and ensure the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales.

Ensure that robust programme and project management processes are implemented and continually reviewed, with accurate and punctual progress and programme reporting.

Site Management & Quality



Monitor and inspect work regularly to ensure that all quality control procedures are being adhered to and that the highest standards of build are being achieved.

Co-ordinate and monitor work of subcontractors.

Oversee the logistical, transport and infrastructure requirements of projects.

Manage and report upon labour, materials, costs and progress and provide continued support in project design and the management of pre and post contract activities (including dealing with Principal Contractors).

Deal with daily site queries and liaise with our in-house design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects.

Communicate effectively and openly with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with architects, quantity surveyors, engineers, manufacturers and suppliers.

Communication, Liaison & External Relations



Clearly report and present to stakeholders with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Generate and issue regular internal and external project reporting.

Attend regular planned co-ordination meetings and keep the Company fully informed of site progress.

Meet regularly with Principal Contractors and their Consultants to monitor and report on progress.

Desired Skills & Experience



The successful candidate will possess excellent knowledge and experience of all project management concepts and the experience, skills and abilities to execute these processes within a construction development context, including:

Innovative and adaptable to change with a professional and dedicated attitude.

Applicants will hold a first degree or equivalent project management qualification.

Have secure experience in procuring the labour, plant and materials required and produce detailed project related reports as required.

Adept in Microsoft Office, Project and other software.

Be capable of managing and prioritising their own workload.

Possess strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels.

Qualifications and Education



Essential - First Degree minimum in construction, design or similar discipline

Desirable - Professional qualification "Chartered" (MCIOB, MRICS, MAPM,RIBA)

Key Competencies



Project Management including conversant with safe working practices and able to set high personal safety standards and take positive action when aware of unsafe working practices. Post-contract management

Desirable - Minimum of 5 years' experience working for either a consultancy or construction company with knowledge including design and delivery across a varied Client base.

Experience and Knowledge



Significant management experience and track record of delivering on site construction projects. Demonstrable leadership and people management with ability to inspire, motivate and lead teams with clear objectives.

Desirable - Demonstrable experience in the leisure sector. Financial budgeting experience. Experience of influencing colleagues across the private and public sectors.

Skills



Strong project management and organisational skills. Able to identify Client's needs and offer a practical, pragmatic, and systematic approach to implementation of solutions. Able to cultivate excellent working relationships with regulatory bodies.

Desirable - Ability to work successfully with a wide range of public and private sector partners and stakeholders. Ability and skills to develop productive working relationships with staff

Personal Attributes



A proven and confident self-starter, with a demonstrable can-do attitude and an ideas-oriented approach. A willingness to learn and develop.

Pay: 45,000.00-55,000.00 per year
