5 days per week

Monday - Saturday: 7:30am - 5:30pm (excluding Thursdays)

J McRobb Butchers is looking for a passionate, highly motivated Butcher to join our team. An excellent understanding and knowledge of the trade is essential.

This position is based in Chorley at the busy and popular Birkacre Garden Centre food hall. As a thriving butcher shop, we pride ourselves on delivering top-quality products and exceptional service. Our standout feature is our vibrant and visually appealing counter displays, showcased seven days a week. We offer an extensive selection of traditional butchery cuts alongside a variety of value-added and oven-ready products.

Duties will include:

- Preparing raw meat products to display, keeping counters & shelves well stocked at all times

- Creating eye catching displays

- Boning and processing fresh raw meat (Lamb, Pork & our Dry Aged Beef Primal's )

- Being confident in advising customers

- Promoting sales

- Serving customers in a polite, professional, friendly and helpful manner

- Stock control and rotation

- Working in a clean and tidy manner

Skills & Experience:

- Skilled butcher with cutting, boning and knife skills

- Understanding the change in seasonal products & current trends

- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and able to work in a fast paced environment

- Experience with presentation and display to the highest standards

- Knowledge & awareness of all hygiene & HACCP requirements, ensuring the highest standards at all times

- Excellent customer service and communication skills

- Must speak fluent English

- Responsible individual with commitment to their work

- Ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative

- 2 or more years experience in a similar role

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 32,000.00-34,000.00 per year
