The George is currently looking for an experienced full or part-time shift manager for Front of House. You MUST be available Wednesday or Thursday evenings 4-11 pm and Sundays 8am-6pm. Other shifts are available and there is some flexibility if you have other commitments as long as you can commit to an agreed minimum number of shifts.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and supervise shifts in our Restaurant and Bar to ensure all shifts run smoothly and seamlessly
Be knowledgeable about all food and beverage items that are offered in the restaurant and bar and ensure the team have the same knowledge
Ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
Inspect storage areas for cleanliness, organization
Complete stock inventories on a regular basis
Identify, develop and introduce ways to upsell and increase revenue
Complete opening and closing duties, to ensure the restaurant is ready for service, utensils and equipment are ready and all cash and keys are locked away at the end of the day
Monitor restaurant and Resos system for seating availability, service, safety and well-being of guests
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a bar and restaurant
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
If you are passionate about the culinary arts, have a strong work ethic, and thrive in a team-oriented environment, we would love to hear from you. Experience with social media marketing in the industry would be useful but is not an essential requirement.
You MUST have at least 1+ years experience in a shift manager role!
Due to some bartending requirements you will need to be 18+ to apply for this position. A current BIIAB personal license is a bonus.
Punctuality, professionalism, and an ability to get on well with customers are important, particularly when the bar/restaurant gets busy.
Pay is commensurate with age and skill level. Tips are distributed based on time worked.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need your own transportation (other than bus or train) due to our location as the evening shifts end after the last local bus leaves.
